Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring prior CVICU experience and proficiency in advanced hemodynamic monitoring.

Details

• Work in a 28-bed mixed ICU unit within a hospital setting
• Care for cardiovascular and neuro ICU patients, including post-op day 0 CABG, impellas, balloon pumps, and Swan Ganz cases
• Neuro patient population includes aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage cases with EVDs, bolts, and induced hypothermia protocols
• Patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3, including holding inpatient PCU/med-surg admissions
• Uses i-mobile phones and mobile computer workstations on wheels
• Documentation completed in Meditech
• Scheduled for three 12-hour shifts per week including every other weekend
• Travelers float first and may be sent to the emergency department or PCU to cover holds
• Bedside shift report required with every patient transfer of care

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in an ICU setting
• Prior CVICU experience required
• Proficiency in reading telemetry strips and managing ventilated patients
• Advanced skills required: CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, and phlebotomy
• Experience administering respiratory treatments (inhalers and nebulizers) outside the ICU
• One previous successful travel nursing assignment preferred, ideally at a facility using Meditech
• BSN, advanced certifications, and TNCC certification preferred

• Care for up to 1-3 ICU patients, including those requiring ventilator management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Opportunity to train in Neuro ICU and Cardiovascular ICU skills, including head and neck flap procedure care
• Unit is part of one of only 14 programs of its kind in the nation
• Navy uniform required as part of the dress code
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, with no exceptions for local candidates
