Job Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of Emergency Department nursing experience.
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, and PALS or ENPC.
- Handle with Care certification is available on-site.
- Must be professional, compassionate, positive, and a strong team player.
- Must be comfortable caring for patients of all ages.
- Must consent to random drug screening and complete the required criminal questionnaire/consent form.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions.
- Respond to medical emergencies and prioritize care in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Care for patients with medical emergencies, behavioral health needs, and acute conditions.
- Maintain accurate patient records using MedHost and Meditech.
- Support triage, admissions, discharges, and emergency department workflow.
Unit Information
- Department: Emergency Room
- Unit Size: 31 beds and 2 triage rooms
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4, with possible exceptions during high-volume periods or admission/discharge holds.
- Patient Population: All age groups
- EHR: Primarily MedHost; Meditech is also used for admission holds and certain behavioral health patients.
- Scrub Color: Any color of the traveler's choice.
Facility Information
- Hospital Size: 250-bed academic community hospital.
- Provides comprehensive surgical services, 24-hour emergency care, cardiac catheterization, cardiac rehabilitation, oncology, wound care, home health, and hospice services.
- Recognized as a Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center.
