Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 5+ years of ED experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• 250-bed academic community hospital emergency department with 31 beds and 2 triage rooms, 7 of which are utilized for behavioral health or acute patients
• Serves all patient age groups from pediatric to geriatric
• Patient ratio of 1:4, with exceptions for discharges awaiting transportation, admit holds, or high-volume days
• Primarily uses MedHost EHR for ED charting, with Meditech used for admit holds (EMAR) and extended behavioral health stays
• 13-week assignment with 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shifts
• 36 scheduled hours per week with rotating weekends as needed
• Every other weekend required
• Floating as needed
• No call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or compact) required
• Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department experience required
• ICU experience may be considered in combination with ED experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS or ENPC
• Handle with Care certification available on-site
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Active license verification via Nursys required at time of consideration
• Copies of required certifications must be provided

• Facility is a designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center
• Hospital offers comprehensive surgical services, 24-hour ED, cardiac rehabilitation, 2 cath labs, and oncology services
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• Candidates must be professional, positive, compassionate, and strong team players
• Random drug screening and completion of a criminal questionnaire/consent form required
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
