    Travel Radiology Technologist

    Location: Hyannis, MA 02601
    Job Type: Travel Contract
    Duration: 13 weeks, with possibility of extension
    Schedule: 40 hours/week
    Shift: Rotating Days/Nights | 12:00 AM–8:00 AM
    Weekend/Holiday: Every Other Weekend & Occasional Holidays
    Alternative Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts may be accommodated

    Job Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Travel Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures while ensuring patient safety and compliance with established radiation protection standards. The ideal candidate will have graduated from a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program, hold current ARRT registration, and maintain the required Massachusetts license and BLS certification.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform radiographic procedures using ionizing radiation in accordance with established safety standards and department protocols.
    • Prepare radiology equipment and examination rooms as needed.
    • Prepare and position patients appropriately for examinations.
    • Review physician orders and relevant patient history and clinical information.
    • Position patients and use immobilization devices when necessary to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
    • Explain examination procedures to patients and answer questions to reduce anxiety and promote cooperation.
    • Provide appropriate physical and psychological support to patients throughout examinations.
    • Maintain patient safety, dignity, comfort, and confidentiality.
    • Evaluate radiographic images for technical quality and completeness.
    • Properly label and document images to ensure accurate patient identification.
    • Assist physicians with special imaging procedures when required.
    • Maintain accurate radiology records and required documentation.
    • Monitor and maintain adequate supplies and equipment.
    • Request equipment maintenance and repairs as necessary.
    • Coordinate daily work activities to promote productivity and efficient patient flow.
    • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and quality standards.
    • Maintain knowledge of hospital emergency, fire, disaster, and safety procedures.
    • Comply with infection prevention and control policies.
    • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
    • Maintain professional and ethical relationships with patients, physicians, staff, and visitors.
    • Protect patient privacy and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program.
    • ARRT registration required; registry-eligible candidates may be considered.
    • Massachusetts Radiologic Technology license required.
    • Current BLS certification required.
    • Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures and radiation safety.
    • Ability to accurately position patients and obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
    • All required licenses, registrations, and certifications must remain active and current throughout the assignment.

    Schedule Requirements

    • 40 hours per week
    • Rotating schedule
    • 12:00 AM–8:00 AM shift
    • Every other weekend
    • Occasional holidays
    • Four 10-hour shifts may also be accommodated
    • Candidate must be flexible with rotating schedules and weekend/holiday coverage.
