Shift: 12hr Day Shift - 36

Shift Information: 630am - 7pm


Clinical Interviewing-Yes - Manager to conduct final interview.

On Call, Call Back Requirements: None

Weekend Rotation: No rotations between weekends and weekdays. Travelers would stay on days and shifts per the contract.

Holiday Requirements: If it is on normal scheduled day, will work it

Floating Requirements: No, only to the different areas of x-ray and for portables in this facility 


About Facility:

  • How many licensed beds: CMC 874
  • Level I Trauma; Level 1 Pediatric Trauma
  • Teaching Hospital
  • Chest Pain Center
  • Stroke Center

Department Information:

  • Average patients/day: 350-400
  • How many X-ray suites:
    • OR: 40 ORs w/ 12 C-arms and 2 O-arms available
    • Main Level (4th floor): 2 x-ray rooms, 3 fluoro rooms
    • ED: 2 rooms
    • 15 Portables

Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years of acute care experience. Need some trauma level experience (Level I, II, or III)

  • Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes, if they have they trauma facility experience

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

  • Adults and Pediatrics (including neonates) from ED, ICUs, nursing units and outpatients across the full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnosis
  • This is a teaching facility, so will see high acuity patients and situations
  • Will rotate shift-by-shift for area stationed (ED, OR, Main)

Required License, National Certification, Certs:

  • BLS
  • ARRT-R

Skills required:

  • General X-ray: imaging of head, neck, spine, extremities, abdomen, hands, feet, chest. Must be comfortable with trauma patients. Portables at bedside
  • OR: spinal, ortho, general surgery, neuro, and peds. Need to be comfortable with the majority of these specialties.
  • C-arm experience required. O-arm experience preferred.
  • EPIC experience required
  • Soft Skills: Confident of their clinical skill sets with ability to work in a fast paced, high patient acuity environment. Good communication skills and attitude of helpfulness and teamwork strongly preferred. Depending on experience, could be asked to precept x-ray students.

  • Supervisor 24/7 – helps with staffing

  • Will work with MD residents and fellows
  • Always other Rad Techs available:
    • Days: 22
    • Mids: 11
    • Nights: 6
    • Weekend Days: 12
    • Weekend Nights: 6
  • RT 24/7
  • Rapid Response/Code Team
  • Radiologists are always on site
  • Transporter for the department

Technology/Equipment:

  • EMR: EPIC – required
  • Department specific Equipment: Shimadzu RadSpeed general rad room, Konica and Shimadzu portables, Philips C-arm, Client O-arm

Floating: No, only to the different areas of x-ray and for portables in this facility

Orientation (facility and unit):

  • NEO: Facility tour, departmental tour with introductions.
  • Up to 5 days max departmental orientation but flexible based on needs of traveler

Scheduling:

  • Weekend Rotations: No rotations between weekends and weekdays. Travelers would stay on days and shifts per the contract.
  • Call requirement: None
  • Holiday Expectations: If it is on normal scheduled day, will work it
  • Approval of RTO: Manager approval
  • Shift times: Refer to requisition for shift/schedule
  • Schedule cycle: Traveler contract are 13 weeks and travelers would work the same shift and times as agreed upon in the contract.

  • Scrub Color: Black. Will be provided OR scrubs if assigned there
  • Parking: Free teammate parking across several parking decks
  • Department Culture: Good teamwork, high clinical skill sets, able to work in fast paced environment.
