Key Responsibilities of the Radiologic Technologist - Radiology Technologist

• Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors and consistently produces radiologic images of diagnostic quality.
• Works cooperatively with all department members to resolve problems expediently.
• Instructs and prepares patients for examinations and assists Radiologist during procedures.
• Operates all equipment proficiently and reports malfunctions.
• Completes all assigned procedures timely, assisting others and aiding with room turnover.
• Ensures medication security to authorized personnel only.
• Answers phone inquiries from physicians or hospital personnel maintaining good etiquette.
• Utilizes Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS competently.
• Participates in hospital performance improvement activities when warranted.

Requirements of the Radiologic Technologist - Radiology Technologist

• BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Two (2) years of experience
• NYS License or ability to obtain prior to start
• ARRT
• VIR Certification preferred
