Key Responsibilities of the Interventional Radiology Technician- Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors and consistently produces diagnostic quality images.
- Instructs and prepares patients for examinations and assists Radiologist during procedures.
- Operates all equipment proficiently and reports malfunctions.
- Completes assigned procedures promptly and assists with room turnover.
- Maintains medication security and demonstrates competency in patient care for all age groups.
- Uses Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS effectively.
- Participates in performance improvement activities and maintains confidentiality.
- Handles technical inquiries professionally, maintaining good phone etiquette.
Requirements of the Interventional Radiology Technician- BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
- Two (2) years of experience
- NYS License (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- ARRT certification
- VIR Certified - preferred
