Job Summary
Radiation Therapist in Charleston, SC This position involves performing radiation therapy procedures under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist. The role includes assisting in examinations, operating therapeutic equipment, delivering prescribed doses of external beam and radioactive elements, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. The job requires interaction with oncology patients, their families, and medical staff, with responsibilities spanning across treatment, simulation, and patient immobilization.
Job Details
- Schedule: 13 weeks, typically Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts anywhere between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, working 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; satisfactory completion of formal training in radiation therapy from an AMA-approved school; at least one year relevant radiation therapy experience; South Carolina Radiation Quality Standard Association (SCRQSA) Radiation Therapist certification; ARRT Radiation Therapy (T) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
