Description: Under supervision and direction of a mentor or preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to patients. The focus is on aiding medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. Utilizing entry-level knowledge, abilities, skills, and available resources, the role involves providing safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care under routine or urgent conditions in various care settings. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures and correlating clinical history with physician-ordered procedures. Effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary team are essential to identify and implement necessary actions for achieving desired clinical outcomes. Use of specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques is required to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures. Conduct post-procedure reviews with or without a preceptor to confirm that all required elements are completed, documented, and of technical quality consistent with established protocols. Transfer images and data to archival systems, enter technical data, findings, and prepare studies for reporting by a physician. Perform operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting, and other user maintenance per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines. Participate in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements in care and treatment. Perform other duties as assigned. Position requires skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, and patient positioning. Teamwork and the ability to follow instructions are crucial. Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs is necessary. Accurate recordkeeping and the ability to work with names, numbers, and codes are essential. Exercise discretion in handling confidential information and sound judgment in decision-making.
