Certifications: Active licensure through the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Clienttion Therapy. BLS Must-Have: - Basic computer skills. - Able to operate standard office equipment. - Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. - Ability to work well with minimal supervision. - Good clinical knowledge of all aspects of the job, including radiotherapy treatment units and treatment procedures. - Must be able to be on call, including weekends and holidays. - Accept responsibility for actions and results while meeting deadlines and performance expectations. - Practice effective, clear, and respectful communication with active listening and engaged body language. - Collaborate and cooperate with co-workers while actively contributing to the vision and results of the team. - Provide excellent customer service by offering information and following up on questions and concerns. Description: Under the clinical direction of the Clienttion Oncologists, the Clienttion Oncology Manager provides supervision and clinical oversight as an essential member of the radiation oncology team. The individual primarily directs and coordinates overall day-to-day business operations for the clinic and treatment areas. This role ensures implementation of processes and controls for communication and information flow between sites of service and management. The manager oversees human resource decisions, accreditation/regulatory standards, fiscal adherence, productivity and establishes policies/procedures to improve the patient experience. This position works in collaboration with other managers to promote the growth and integration of the Oncology Service line. Administers ionizing radiation. Documents accurate record treatment data in charts. Assesses patient needs and necessity for doctor visits. Checks charts for mathematical errors. Stocks treatment rooms with linen and supplies. Maintains knowledge of equipment in all areas. Participates in the education of students from Radiologic Technology and Clienttion Therapy Programs. Stays updated on all procedures. Assists Clienttion Oncologist in performing simulations and fabricating immobilization devices. Demonstrates proficiency in techniques for treating cancer patients to train clinical students. Leads training for all students and facilitates communication about student progress among cancer care services. Consults with Clienttion Oncologist regarding examinations as necessary. Checks patient schedules with family or care givers. Effectively communicates with staff, peers, management, and physicians about current department activities. Explains the rationale of all procedures to patients and families across all age ranges. Monitors and records the progress of students and communicates this to the program director promptly. Counsels and meets with students monthly to discuss their progress in the program. Ensures the area is secured at the end of shifts. Serves as a clinical instructor for radiation therapy students as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
