Job Details
- Position Type: Radiation Therapist
- Location: Winchester, VA
- Schedule: Days, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a total of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, VA License or current license status, and a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Responsibilities include checking prescriptions, scheduling and explaining procedures to patients, collaborating with physicists and dosimetrists, preparing treatment rooms and equipment, taking and reviewing images, maintaining patient markings, monitoring for adverse reactions, and adhering to radiation safety measures.
- Experience with IMRT and 3-D treatment setups, immobilization devices, and treatment documentation are essential.
- The candidate must be comfortable working with Varian Truebeam and Phillips Big Bore CT Scanner equipment.
- This role may require the ability to assist in treatments such as Brachytherapy and to perform treatment simulations.
