Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) in Louisville, Kentucky. This position involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care across a mixed-acuity environment in a surgical trauma unit. The RN will be responsible for managing a variety of complex conditions, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week. The shift begins at 7:00 PM and ends at 7:30 AM; arrival time can be as early as 6:53 PM.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification, and current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse. A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a similar setting is required; 3 years preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with blood administration, skeletal traction, drains, JP drains, CT scans, wound dressings, wound vac management, and wound care. Skills in Heparin infusions, high-flow oxygen therapy, and stable bipap management.
- Additional Information:
- The unit supports a diverse team including charge nurses, receptionists, phlebotomy staff, vascular access teams, sepsis teams, rapid response teams, hospitalists, specialists, intensivists, and remote telemetry monitoring.
- Orientation includes 24 hours of facility and unit-specific training, conducted over two 12-hour shifts at the end of week one and the start of week two.
- The unit culture emphasizes teamwork, compassion, and delivering exceptional outcomes.
- Scrub color is Galaxy Blue, with free onsite parking available via badge access.
- Float to mixed acuity units may be required.
