Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing patient care to a mixed acuity patient population, including respiratory failure, sepsis, GIB, bariatric post-op, diabetic, CHF, COPD, PNA, Acute Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) patients, and TIA/Stroke rule out. The position offers a dynamic environment with collaborative support from the healthcare team and extensive orientation.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Experience: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications are required. Minimum 0 years of experience needed, with 1 year of PCU experience preferred.
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week, including weekend rotations every other weekend.
• Additional Responsibilities: Bedside handoff as a standard practice; charting in EPIC (preferred); compliance with telemetry competency before start.
• Support on the Unit: Charge nurse, SWAT nurse, hospitalist, educator, RT (Respiratory Therapist), OT, PT, ST, phlebotomy services, and on-call support 24/7.
• Orientation: 12-hour unit-based orientation with preceptor, including hospital orientation, modules, and skills training.
• Travel Requirements: Travelers may float first to overflow areas; no specific medical specialty units.
• Additional Notes: Relaxed scrub color policy; free designated parking; culture is welcoming and traveler-friendly.
