Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Step Down/PCU position requiring OH or compact RN license and telemetry experience.

Details

  • Progressive Care Unit (Step Down) setting within a hospital
  • Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
  • 13 or 18 week winter contract options available
  • 1:5 patient ratio
  • Epic EMR required
  • Floating required at facility's discretion, including to High Risk Respiratory Unit/COVID units and within specialty cluster
  • Must work every other weekend and every other holiday

Requirements

  • Active OH state RN license or compact RN license required (license does not need to be in hand to apply, but must be obtained before contract start)
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Must pass an online EKG/Telemetry competency assessment prior to starting assignment
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and oxygen administration
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry and step-down level nursing care for cardiac and medical-surgical patients
  • Respond to rapid response and code team activations as needed
  • Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract; no RTO or schedule changes negotiated after offer is made
  • Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • Previous PERM/PRN staff or agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
