Job Summary
The PCU (Progressive Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a Pediatric Cardiac Care Unit within a childrens hospital setting. This role involves providing specialized care for pediatric cardiology patients, including those with complex conditions such as single ventricle heart transplants and ventricular assist devices. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic, 34-bed unit dedicated to pediatric cardiac health.
Job Details
- Position: RN PCU Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (Pediatric Cardiac Experience Required)
- Location: The healthcare providers facility in a Pediatric hospital setting
- Shift: 12-hour Nights (6:45 PM 7:15 AM)
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: BSN required, BLS, PALS, ACLS certifications; a minimum of 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac Progressive Care or Cardiac Step-Down experience; at least 1 year of inpatient pediatric cardiology experience in ICU or Intermediate Care; strong working knowledge of pediatric three-stage single ventricle care; competence caring for pediatric cardiology patients including, but not limited to, Single Ventricle Heart Transplant and Ventricular Assist Devices; previous inpatient pediatric cardiology experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Pediatric Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) patients and teaching hospital experience.
- Travel: Yes, travel experience preferred.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: No RTO approved during the first two weeks of the assignment. Maximum 5 days of RTO on the 13-week contract. The RN will be required to work 2 major holidays and 1 minor holiday. Seasonal influenza vaccination is required unless exempted for medical or religious reasons, with exemption requests documented accordingly.
