Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) care in a hospital setting. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a Level 3 trauma center, focusing on patients with primary medical conditions, respiratory failure, infections, congestive heart failure, and arrhythmias. The role includes performing and reading electrocardiograms, starting intravenous lines, caring for central lines, and assisting in bedside procedures.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule is distributed every 6 weeks with no self-scheduling option.
- Required Qualifications: Valid NH (New Hampshire) or compact nursing license, minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, BSN degree preferred, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association, previous travel experience, ability to operate respiratory equipment such as high flow systems or Bipap, and hospital experience caring for PCU/IMCU patients.
- Preferred Qualifications: PCCN (Progressive Care Certified Nurse) certification.
- Additional Information: The unit has 8 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4. Patients are mainly medical cases, including respiratory failure, infections, CHF, and arrhythmias. Equipment used includes chest tubes, epidurals, CAPD, NICO (Cheetah), Radial and Femoral compression devices, infusion pumps, Vapotherm high flow systems, Philips Bipap and cardiac monitors, and various infusions and titrations. Candidates must be separated from BILH (the healthcare provider) for at least 6 months and no local candidates within 50 miles are accepted.
