This position involves providing specialized nursing care within a 28-bed neuro-focused Progressive Care Unit. The role requires managing diverse patient diagnoses such as strokes, seizures, spinal injuries, neuro specialties, and trauma ortho injuries, while utilizing advanced monitoring and drip experience.

Job Details

  • Certifications and Qualifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS; 2 years of MS, PCU, ICU experience; experience in the last 12 months; local candidates within 80 miles preferred.
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days, 36 hours per week, including every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with holiday coverage typically 2-3 days in winter.
  • Responsibilities: Managing neuro-related conditions, drips such as Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Insulin; performing assessments, reading strips, and handling vents, Trach, Cpap, Bipap; participating in self-scheduling and floating to sister units.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: Open to first-time travelers; training available on vents; must note if previously worked for the organization, with end date over 6 months prior if applicable.
