Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position in a healthcare facility. This role requires providing specialized care to patients with diverse diagnoses, including respiratory, cardiovascular, and post-surgical conditions. The RN will work nights, follow established clinical protocols, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS certification; NIHSS certification; Vistelar training specific to UofL; Ability to manage Bipap, high flow oxygen, trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, wound/skin care, blood product administration, cardiac monitor/telemetry, central line care; Experience with drips such as milrinone and heparin; and 1 year overall nursing experience with at least 6 months in a neuro setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro cases preferred.
- Support within the Department: PCA/CNA, charge nurse, respiratory therapy 24/7, phlebotomy IV/VAT team (for stat/blood cultures/specialty draws), hospitalist remote tele monitoring.
- Technology/Equipment: Cerner electronic medical record system, Plum ICU Medical infusion pump, Phillips monitors, Mcube bladder scanner, Sara Steady, NIHON KOHDEN SVM-7260A, IVEA walker, Sara Flex, Maxi Move, ultrasonic Doppler, Kangaroo Omni feeding system.
- Floating: Float rotation may be required within scope of practice and below.
- Orientation: Day 1New Employee Orientation; Day 2Patient Experience and NVCI class; Day 3Nursing Orientation; Day 4Unit Orientation (day); Day 5Unit Orientation (night).
