Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a 42-bed telemetry unit, requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Work in a 42-bed telemetry unit specializing in complex patients with multiple co-morbidities
• Care for patients with palliative care needs, colorectal surgeries under progressive ERAS protocols, and MDRO precautions
• Receive patient transfers from ICU, ED, and PACU
• Third shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (7p-7a)
• Weekend and holiday coverage required as needed
• 0.9 FTE position at 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• Recent acute care experience preferred
• Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and use of medical equipment
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized plans of care
• Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching with Case Management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with patients and families
• Delegate and oversee care activities performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives such as patient falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTI prevention
• Promote a positive, healing-focused environment aligned with organizational values
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• First-time travelers may be considered
