Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • 32-bed Advanced Surg Med-Surg unit specializing in bariatric, GI, and colorectal surgical patients
  • Patient ratio of 5-6:1
  • Night shift, 6:45p-7:15a, three 12-hour shifts per week, 36 hours weekly
  • Every other weekend required
  • RN reads telemetry but does not titrate medications
  • Manages TPN and pain medications
  • Utilizes Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active KY or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skilled in PCA management, feeding tubes, trach care, peritoneal dialysis, and wound vac

Additional Information

  • Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Provides patient and family education throughout stay and at discharge
  • Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and serves as mentor/preceptor
  • Participates in quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support patient and organizational needs
  • No local rate reduction applies to this position
