Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a healthcare facility. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring safety, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced clinical environment. The RN will oversee patient assessments, care planning, and discharge processes, while supervising ancillary staff.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Certifications, education, and experience: BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required prior to first shift; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only); minimum two years bedside clinical experience highly desired; no minimum experience required for open position.
  • Responsibilities include performing nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, documenting patient responses, participating in patient rehabilitation programs, and initiating discharge planning from day one.
  • Provides patient education, ensures communication regarding patient status changes, and supports continuity of care.
  • Delegates and supervises ancillary nursing personnel, participates in team-building activities, and maintains communication with management regarding supplies and equipment needs.
  • Assumes charge responsibility after orientation, with opportunities for ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
