Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse Float Pool, the organizations flexible float pool location, is seeking a dedicated nurse to join their team. The role involves floating within various inpatient units such as PCU, Telemetry, MedSurg, and ED Holding, with a focus on providing safe and effective patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment. This position offers flexibility to float within scope of practice across the hospital and occasionally to nearby facilities.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification; 1-year minimum experience in Progressive Care Unit or similar setting; valid license to practice as a registered nurse.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with shifts scheduled from 0700-1930 or 1900-0730, totaling at least 36 hours per week.
- Additional Job Information: The position involves float coverage across PCU, Telemetry, MedSurg, ER Holding, and possibly to Allenmore Hospital (approximately 2.5 miles away). Orientation includes a 1-day general hospital overview, 1-day unit orientation, and a light unit-specific orientation. The role requires documenting patient care with Epic electronic medical record system, completion of hourly rounds, and adherence to medication and safety protocols.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IV medication titration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, bipap management, and experience with TR Bands are preferred.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must be prepared to demonstrate competency in telemetry, ICU, or adult medical-surgical units, and have recent relevant experience aligned with role responsibilities.
