Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This position provides care for adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac and medical conditions in a progressive care setting. Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, management of cardiac drips without titration, and care related to cardiac procedures and interventions.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; compact nursing license in hand at submission; at least one year of experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; experience with cardiac telemetry, progressive care, telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, central line management, blood product administration, noninvasive airway management, cardiac catheterization recovery, cardiac surgery recovery, and sheath removal.
- Schedule: Night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week; weekend coverage every other weekend.
- Assignment Dates: 11/17/202602/16/2027.
- Additional Information: The progressive care unit supports adult and geriatric patients with heart failure, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, sepsis, cardiac arrhythmias, chest pain, syncope, and temporary pacemaker management. Clinical responsibilities may include cardioversion, sheath removal, cardiac drip management, and groin-site management. Weekend patient ratios are 4:1. Interdisciplinary support includes intravenous therapy teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial services.
