Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for night shift coverage in a cardiac ICU setting with universal bed patient care.

Details

  • 16-bed Cardiac ICU (CVCU) caring for pre/post open-heart surgery patients using the universal bed concept, where patients remain in the same private room from surgery through discharge
  • Also cares for general ICU, complex cardiology, IABP/Impella, and post-cardiac arrest cooling patients
  • Third shift schedule, 6:30p-7a, working every other weekend
  • 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
  • 0.9 FTE position

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or compact) required
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required per department compliance
  • ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
  • No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred

Additional Information

  • Performs comprehensive patient assessments, develops care plans, and implements nursing interventions based on the nursing process
  • Facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with case management
  • Delegates and oversees patient care tasks performed by other team members
  • Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
  • Clinical educator provides customized orientation for the unit
