Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a 28-bed stroke/telemetry step-down unit requiring KY or compact RN licensure and night shift availability.

Details

• 28-bed ICU step-down unit specializing in stroke and telemetry-monitored patients
• RN to patient ratio of 5:1
• Performs bedside procedures including cardioversions, sheath pulls, post-pacemaker care, and AIRVO use
• Night shift schedule: 7p-7a, 3x12, 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday rotation required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures

Additional Information

• Provides comprehensive nursing assessments, care planning, and treatment implementation for stroke and telemetry step-down patients
• Coordinates admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and case management coordination
• Delegates and oversees care activities performed by other team members
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement initiatives such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Collaborates closely with inter-professional care teams to design individualized treatment plans
