Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2+ years of recent PCU cardiac experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Works in a 14-bed adult med/cardiac Progressive Care Unit treating CHF, post-cath/pacemaker, and COPD patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:6 with 1-2 admissions per day
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
  • 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
  • On-call required for 1 shift per pay period if census drops
  • Up to 4 weekend shifts required if needed
  • Holiday coverage required as needed

Requirements

  • Active RN license in North Carolina (Standard or Compact)
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
  • ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • CPI-A certification required
  • 2+ years of recent PCU experience caring for cardiac patients
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
  • BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

  • Delivers competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards within a hospital setting
  • Coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
  • Performs bedside point of care testing as part of the patient care plan
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams on care planning, discharge planning, and performance improvement activities
  • Opportunities for growth into charge nurse, preceptor, or clinical ladder roles
  • Flexible and confident nurses succeed in this fast-paced unit
