Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Progressive Care Unit float pool role requiring NC or compact RN licensure and at least one year of nursing experience.
Details
- Hospital-based float pool position covering Progressive Care/Stepdown units including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center
- May also float to acute care units as needed
- Patient ratios generally 1:3 to 1:4 on PCU units, up to 1:5 on acute care units
- Night shift schedule, 7:00pm to 7:00am
- 36 hours per week, 3 shifts per day at 12 hours each
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina (NC or compact)
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
- ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum one year of nursing experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required from an accredited nursing school
- BSN or MSN preferred
Additional Information
- Delivers competent clinical nursing care in coordination with the interdisciplinary care team
- Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of outcomes
- Performs bedside point-of-care testing as needed
- Participates in discharge planning and patient/family education
- Supports unit performance improvement activities and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Reports to and works under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
