This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM. Minimum of 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) required per 6-week schedule period. Flexibility to work holidays is expected.

Job Description

The Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) unit specializes in managing patients following cardiovascular and vascular surgeries, including open-heart procedures and thoracic surgeries. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and managing patients recovering from CV surgeries and vascular procedures.
  • Administering medications and IV therapies as required.
  • Utilizing and managing advanced equipment for patient care.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Documenting care in the electronic medical records system (Cerner).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Must possess RN licensure.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required.
  • Stepdown and telemetry experience is mandatory.
  • Preferred prior experience with CV and vascular surgery patients.
  • Experience in CVICU is a plus.
