Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Baltimore City. This position involves providing direct nursing care to critically ill adult patients within a high acuity unit, utilizing advanced medical equipment and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The role requires maintaining detailed documentation, recognizing emergency situations, and supporting patients and their families through education and emotional support.
Job Details
- Position Description: Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Monitor and assess critically ill patients continuously using advanced medical equipment (e.g., ventilators, cardiac monitors). Administer medications, fluids, and treatments accurately and timely according to physician orders. Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient status, treatments, and nursing interventions. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families. Follow strict infection control protocols to minimize risk of infection. Participate in continuing education and training to maintain clinical skills and stay current with IMC practices.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Nursys license, license/certificate verification, driver's license or state ID, professional ascension profile, three professional references, ascension resume, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and CRRT experience.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Start Date: 09/21/2026.
- End Date: 12/20/2026.
- Experience Requirement: 3 years of relevant experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
