Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position in a hospital setting. This role involves delivering competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards, with responsibilities including patient assessment, care planning, and implementation. The position requires flexibility to adapt to a dynamic nursing environment, with a focus on caring for patients with complex needs within a pilot program that may transition back to traditional models.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited school of Nursing; Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (American Heart Association or ARC); at least 1 year of nursing experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school of Nursing.
- Additional Information: Candidates should be comfortable caring for both acute and step-down neurological patients, and be adaptable to changing patient populations as the pilot program concludes in November. This role may involve serving in charge or precepting nearly every shift, with opportunities for 48-hour guarantees. The unit operates with a mixed patient population, including high-acuity cases, requiring strong clinical judgment and team collaboration.
