Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a high-acuity, fast-paced cardiac center. The role involves caring for postoperative cardiac surgery patients, managing advanced equipment and procedures, and collaborating within a specialized team to provide exceptional patient care. This assignment offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-regarded unit known for its technological advancements and clinical expertise.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Candidates must have current RN licensure, minimum of 1-year recent hospital experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar setting, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NIH (National Institutes of Health) certification.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing chest tubes, pacer wires, 12-lead EKGs, and hemodynamic drips such as heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, and ketamine.
  • Additional Information: The unit features new equipment including telemetry monitors, suction systems, feeding pumps, and advanced ventilatory support such as BiPAP and heated high-flow devices. The team is comprised of experienced staff with high clinical standards, and the environment fosters collaboration and valued communication.
