Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit role requiring NIH Stroke Scale certification and telemetry experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit serving adult Neuro/Stroke patients with telemetry capability
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs
• Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week scheduling period
• Holiday coverage required based on department needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (OK or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification through AHA
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care including implementing and monitoring patient care plans
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders and assess discharge planning needs
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
