Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurses are needed at a healthcare provider in McKinney, Texas. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for patients requiring close monitoring and management of various conditions on a 46-bed unit.
Job Details:
- Position: Registered Nurse Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Location: McKinney, Texas
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in NIH stroke scale and ACLS, valid nursing license, and current BLS certification. Experience in PCU required; candidates without PCU experience will not be considered.
- Preferred Qualifications: More than a year of PCU experience, familiarity with Meditech electronic medical records system.
- Responsibilities: Provide nursing care to patients in the PCU, manage drips such as heparin, Cardizem, and Cardene, and participate in team collaboration.
- Additional Information: The unit has an average census of 34 patients, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 to 1:5. The team includes charge nurses, nurses, techs, and a secretary. The unit utilizes IV pumps, Sara Stedy Lift, remote tele monitors, and Meditech EMR. Weekend shifts and on-call hours are required.
