Job Summary:

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a hospital setting. This role involves managing patients with stroke, cardiac drips, and those on continuous bipap therapy, among other procedures. The unit accommodates a mix of patient needs requiring acute but less intensive care than an intensive care unit, and offers a dynamic environment for professional growth.

Job Details:

  • Shifts: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, at least 1 year of experience, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NIH (National Institutes of Health) certifications.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Preceptor experience, charge nurse experience.
  • Unit Information:
    • Location: Medical City facility
    • Floor: 2nd floor of the main hospital
    • Bed Capacity: 25 beds
    • Staffing: 54 full-time equivalents
    • Staffing Model: Staffing comprises charge RNs, staff RNs, and PCTs during both day and night shifts
    • Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 or 5:1
    • Equipment: Bipap, restraints, airvo, bedside monitoring, seizure precautions, telemonitoring
    • EMR System: Meditech
