American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care (IMCU) position at a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center in Georgia, requiring at least 2 years of experience in high-volume hospital environments.

Details

  • Position is in the 5J-Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) of a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
  • Unit has 16–18 beds with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, and encephalopathy
  • Nurses are expected to manage Heparin drips
  • 12-hour day shifts, 4 shifts per week
  • Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
  • Block scheduling is generally not approved

Requirements

  • Active RN license — GA state or Compact license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments is required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to manage critical, fast-paced clinical situations
