Position: Registered Nurse, PCU, Stepdown, Intermediate Care

Location: Burlington, MA

Shift: Night Shift, 7PM-7:30AM, EOW

8/31 Start

Hours: 36 

Needed to apply: Intellify Coversheet, Resume, Skills Check, MA License. Must have level I trauma experience or 1 travel assignment. 

Pay: $2,834/Week

Additional Details: 13 week need. BILH coversheet required at time of submission. Epic experience required. MUST BE ABLE TO TITRATE PRESSORS - please include in write up. Day one pass/fail testing will be administered. Relias practice tests will be available via Relias. 12Hnights. Every other weekend will be required. (Weekends for days - Sat and Sun, weekends for nights will be Fri, Sat, Sun). BLS-AHA required. ACLS-AHA, NIHSS preferred. Ratios will be between 1:3-5 and will be expected to float to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU and other boarding units. Weekly start dates (Mondays). Floating occurs in 4 hour blocks while on shift - while floating every 4 hours is rare, it could happen. Level 1 trauma experience is preferred. If no prior travel, level 1 trauma will be required. Must be separated from BILH for a min of 6 months to be considered (perm, per diem, contract). IVS to manager for approval.

The Progressive Care Unit RN, as a professional practitioner, assumes the responsibility and accountability for delivering patient care to telemetry/progressive care patients. The Progressive Care Unit RN demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision. This individual employs critical thinking and performance ability in the coordinator of patient care, consistently performs according to nursing standards, and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.  The Progressive Care Unit RN is sometimes also called a step-down nurse, cardiac stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgical stepdown and in some medical centers, the PCU is also known as a transition or intermedia unit. 

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
• One year prior professional nursing experience preferred with one year progressive care unit experience preferred
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
• Must be at least 18 years of age
