Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring EPIC experience and active IL licensure.

Details

  • Acute care setting in a Pre-Op & Phase II Recovery (PACU) unit with 60 beds total between Preop and Phase II cubicles
  • Patient population includes ortho, urology, gyne, general, breast, bariatric, ENT, dental GI, open heart, neuro, cath lab, EP lab, and peds cases
  • 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, with nurses responsible for assigned patients until they enter their procedure
  • Uses EPIC EMR including Optime and Radiant modules
  • 12-hour day shifts with varying start times (e.g. 11-1930, 7-1930, variable 8s, 9-1730)
  • Call requirement once per week until 11 PM with a 1-hour response time
  • No weekend or holiday call requirements at this time
  • Floating required within the Preop/Phase 2 Units (3 total)
  • Charge nurse present on each shift and may take an assignment
  • Nurse aides are present on the unit

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA)
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • EPIC experience required; Optime/Radiant and cardiac experience preferred
  • Must pass a negative drug screen for all panels as part of facility requirements

Additional Information

  • Provide pre-op and post-anesthesia recovery care across a variety of surgical specialties
  • Hospital-provided scrubs required per facility dress code
  • 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation provided
  • Requested time off must be submitted for consideration prior to assignment start
  • Local candidates accepted with a reduced bill rate applied for those within 50 miles of the facility
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this position
