Prime Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN PreOp / PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Santa Rosa, California.
Job Description & Requirements

The Pre/Post Procedure RN provides nursing care to patients before and after surgical, cardiac, interventional, diagnostic, and infusion procedures. The RN will work across a variety of procedural areas and must be comfortable caring for patients with complex medical and cardiac needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure nursing care and monitoring.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments before and after procedures.
- Prepare patients for surgery, cardiac catheterization, IR, endoscopy, radiology procedures, and infusions.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac status, pain, sedation/recovery status, and potential post-procedure complications.
- Provide specialized care to cardiac patients before and after cardiac catheterization and other cardiac procedures.
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to physicians and the appropriate clinical team.
- Administer medications and IV therapies according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Review patient history, medications, allergies, laboratory results, and procedure-related information.
- Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Assist with safe patient preparation, recovery, transfers, and discharge.
- Collaborate with physicians, procedural teams, anesthesia, radiology, surgery, cath lab, and other interdisciplinary departments.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety protocols.
- Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
Required Experience
- Acute-care hospital experience required.
- Strong cardiac pre/post experience highly important.
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred/required based on manager's preference.
- Experience with IR, Surgery, and Endoscopy is strongly preferred.
- Experience caring for patients before and after invasive procedures.
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Active California RN License
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- PALS
