Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Post Surgical unit requiring stepdown/PCU and acute care surgical floor experience.

Details

  • Post Surgical med/surg unit caring for pre- and post-surgical inpatients
  • Care for patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT, or DHT
  • Includes stepdown level patients
  • Patient ratios of 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for stepdown area
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact eNLC) required
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • Stepdown/PCU experience required
  • Acute care surgical floor experience required
  • ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • OR candidates will not be accepted for this role

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care to a group of assigned surgical patients, including medication administration and IV/blood product management
  • Collaborate with physicians on diagnostic procedures and treatments
  • Communicate care plans and discharge information with patients and families
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines; onboarding must begin promptly after booking
  • Contract extensions are limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
