Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or compact license eligible before start
• At least 1 year of Mother/Baby, Postpartum, or Couplet Care nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• First-time travelers welcome
• Experience with postpartum patient care, newborn assessments, and family education preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Ability to float within the service area as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care for postpartum mothers and newborns in a Couplet Care setting
• Perform newborn and postpartum assessments, including fundus, lochia, perineum, and infant evaluations
• Support breastfeeding education, newborn care teaching, discharge instructions, and family readiness for home
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, including IV therapies and postpartum medications
• Assist with care coordination for routine postpartum recovery and newborn observation
• Educate parents on infant safety, feeding, thermoregulation, circumcision care, and follow-up needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Float to like units within scope when needed based on facility needs
