We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for a contract position in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a leading acute-care hospital in Aurora, CO. This role is ideal for RNs who thrive in high-acuity environments and have a passion for providing exceptional care to pediatric patients.

Position Description:

This contract assignment is for 14 weeks, starting on 12/01/2026, with a shift schedule of 12-hour rotating shifts. The PICU is a Level Three unit, and the role requires a commitment to every other weekend. As a PICU RN, you will care for patients from birth through 21 years of age, managing complex medical and surgical cases.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BSN required
• Colorado RN License required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a staff RN in a comparable PICU

Required Experience:

• Experience with respiratory diagnoses requiring support ranging from nasal cannula to BiPAP/CPAP and mechanical ventilation
• Chronic childhood diseases, Sepsis, TBI, DKA, Seizure disorders
• Oncology diagnoses, Metabolic disorders, Non-Accidental Trauma (NAT)
• Surgical patients including Neurosurgery, ENT, Orthopedics, and General Surgery
• Equipment experience with Trilogy Ventilators, Servo Ventilators, Codman ICP Monitors, Medfusion Syringe Pumps, Baxter Large Volume IV Pumps

Required Certifications:

• AHA BLS
• AHA PALS

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of PICU staff experience
• 1 year of travel experience in a teaching facility preferred

Additional Information:

• Travelers are eligible to float to all inpatient care areas, including Critical Care Units and Acute Care Floors.
• Travelers will not float to the Emergency Department (ED) or OR/PACU.
• RTO: None allowed during the first 2 weeks.
• Flu Vaccine: Medical/religious exemptions allowed.

This is a high-acuity pediatric critical care environment seeking experienced PICU nurses who are comfortable caring for complex medical and surgical patient populations and floating throughout inpatient units as needed.
