Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 2 years of recent acute PICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center
  • Facility is a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center with a Level IV NICU
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am, with every other weekend required
  • Required to float as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active WI or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience required
  • Must have completed 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
  • Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to start
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to pediatric ICU patients, including respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and GI care
  • Skilled care may include ventilator management, chest tube care, central line management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with congenital heart disease, post cardiac surgery, and ICP monitoring is preferred
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • All references must be removed prior to consideration
  • Parking permit required for onsite parking through UW Transportation; alternative transportation options available
