Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 24 months of PICU experience and PALS certification.

Details

• 12-bed, all-private-room PICU located in a dedicated children's hospital
• Cares for critically-ill or injured infants, children, and teens
• Nights, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Required to work every 4th weekend
• Minimal on-call required to fill immediate needs
• May float to NICU, General Pediatrics, and ED patient holds as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• Current BLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum 24 months of PICU/Pediatric Intensive Care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with vents and high-flow equipment highly preferred
• Experience with Alaris IV pumps and feeding pumps highly preferred
• Must be willing to float to NICU and ED patient holds when needed
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within 24 months required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to infants, children, and teens in a family-centered PICU environment
• Unit features private patient rooms, a family consultation room, and family lounge with kitchenette
• Part of a hospital with a dedicated Pediatric Transport Team for higher-level care access statewide
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Prior UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from travel assignments at other UPH markets within 12 months
