Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 2 years of critical care experience and PALS certification.

Details

  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Pediatric critical care unit treating ENT, general surgery, ortho, and pre/post-op cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Floating required to NICU or other units within skill set, with orientation provided
  • Every other weekend required
  • Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP and CRRT certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric ICU/critical care experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Experience with ventilators, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high frequency vents, oscillators, and trach care
  • Experience with CVP monitoring, 12 lead EKG, blood/blood product administration, and central line/PICC management
  • Experience with procedural sedation, RSI, epidural/PCA pumps, and wound vac care
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide pediatric critical care nursing including respiratory, cardiovascular, and renal interventions
  • Perform pediatric dosage calculations and administer emergency medications as needed
  • First-time travelers accepted provided they meet experience requirements
  • Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month separation period and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Limited RTO accepted; all time-off requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
