Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU position requiring WA or compact RN license and 2 years of PICU experience.

Details

• PICU setting caring for pediatric critical care patients including ENT, general surgery, ortho, and pre/post-op cases
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-7:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to NICU or units within skill set
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP and CRRT preferred
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPap, high frequency vents, oscillators, procedural sedation, and RSI drug administration
• Skilled in trach care and vent management
• Experience with blood/blood product administration, CVP monitoring, and 12-lead EKG
• Experience with drains, epidural and PCA pumps, PICC/central lines, port-a-cath access, syringe pumps, traction/halo/pin care, triple lumen catheters, and wound vac care
• Pediatric dosage calculation skills required
• First-time travelers accepted with required experience

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients across a range of surgical and medical specialties
• Orientation provided for floating assignments
• May be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
• Returning staff who previously worked at a Providence facility must have been separated for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Candidates within 50 miles of the facility may be accepted at a lower bill rate
