Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring PALS, TNCC certification, and ventilator competency.

Details

  • Work in a 12-bed Pediatric ICU within a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes trauma, burn, neurosurgery, pediatric surgery, respiratory, sepsis, endocrinology, chronic/trach, hematology/oncology, and orthopedic cases
  • Patient ratios are 2:1 for ICU status, 1:1 for intubated patients, and 3:1 for pediatric status patients
  • Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00
  • Weekend hours required as needed by the facility
  • No call requirements
  • Floating required to NICU, PICU, Pediatric medical floor, or Peds ED based on patient volumes
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license eligible for or currently held in Missouri, or compact license
  • Current certifications required: BLS, PALS (AHA only), and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required, with at least 1 year post-orientation experience
  • Ventilator competency required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort
  • Function within scope of nursing practice consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
  • Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available the entire orientation week
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1, with no declinations accepted
  • Black scrub color required; jeans and unprofessional attire not permitted
  • Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, lifting and pushing patients on stretchers and wheelchairs, and the ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
  • Care team works within a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center environment
