Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Pediatric CICU RN with congenital heart disease and post-op cardiac management experience for a 13-week travel assignment in Dallas.

Details

• Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU and step-down unit within a Children's Hospital tower
• 27-bed unit with acuity adaptive staffing model caring for ICU and step-down level patients
• Patient ratios of 1:2, 1:1, and at times 1:3
• Uses Medfusion and Baxter IV pumps, Hillrom beds, hard cribs and cribettes, GE radiant warmers, Somanetics NIRS machines, and Servo U ventilators
• Meditech EMR used
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekends required (day shift Saturday and Sunday, night shift Friday and Saturday)
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to PICU, NICU, pediatric med surg, and pediatric oncology

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: PALS, BLS, and ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse required, with 3-4 contracts in a dedicated pediatric CICU preferred
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience as a staff nurse required
• Experience caring for congenital heart disease patients and post-operative CHD management required
• Experience managing arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic lines required
• 2+ years of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience preferred
• 1+ year experience with neonatal cardiac patients (pre- and post-op) preferred
• 2+ years of pediatric cardiac step-down or cardiology floor experience preferred

Additional Information

• Perform procedures including central and arterial line placement, conscious sedation, intubation/extubation, post-op recovery for general and cardiac procedures, sternal closures, codes, ECMO cannulation/decannulation, CRRT, and manual PD
• Compassionate, hardworking, meticulous, and adaptable team players are ideal fits for this unit
• Royal blue scrub attire required
• Must reside 50+ miles from the facility, no local candidates accepted
