Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a busy, high-acuity specialty unit. The role involves providing advanced critical care to pediatric patients with complex medical conditions, including trauma, respiratory issues, and surgical cases. The position requires team collaboration and adherence to strict clinical standards within a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 10/05/2026 to 04/02/2027.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), 2 years of high-acuity Pediatric ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, ability to handle high-acuity, fast-paced environment, and EPIC EHR experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino device (ICP and temperature monitoring devices), Belmont Rapid Infuser, and management of invasive lines such as ART lines and central venous pressure lines.
  • Additional Information: The pediatric ICU handles a wide spectrum of patient diagnoses including respiratory, trauma, DKA, seizures, neurosurgical conditions, renal failure, transplant cases, and complex medical and blood disorders. Patient ratios vary from 1:1 to 2:1 based on acuity. Float support may include Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Neonatal Pediatric Care Unit (PCU), and general pediatric units as needed. Orientation includes 2 days of departmental training. The unit fosters a culture of teamwork, trust, accountability, respect, and compassion.
