Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital Bloomberg Childrens Center. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a Level 1 Pediatric ICU designated burn, trauma, and eye center. The role requires delivering comprehensive critical care to pediatric patients from newborn to 21 years old with complex medical diagnoses and post-operative needs.
Job Details
- Certifications and Education Requirements: RN license; BLS; PALS; at least 2 years current experience in Pediatric ICU Level 1.
- Schedule: Rotating shift; 12 hours per shift; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities include managing patients with respiratory failure, metabolic disorders, seizure disorders, multiorgan failure, shock, toxic ingestions, ECMO, ventricular assist devices, and performing extensive general, cardiac, thoracic surgeries, transplants, orthopedic, and neurologic procedures.
- Experience with continuous infusions, intermittent medications (narcotics, vasopressors, diuretics, PN/IL), IVP, PCAs, PO, GT/JT.
- Prior employment with the organization must be disclosed if applicable, and candidates must meet the minimum of 2 years current experience in Pediatric ICU Level 1.
- Preference given to candidates with Critical Care Certification, trauma course, or EPIC experience.
- The candidate will work in a facility where the patient-to-nurse ratio is 2:1 or 1:1.
- No facility, hospital, clinic, organization, or employer names are included as per protocol.
