Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) registered nurse position available in a designated location. This role involves providing specialized patient care in a busy pediatric ICU setting, with a focus on working under pressure and collaborating within a teaching hospital environment. The assignment spans a 12-hour night shift schedule, with a minimum of 36 hours per week for an anticipated duration of approximately three months.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid registered nurse license, a minimum of 1 year of current hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN experience, BLS (Basic Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications
  • Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) experience, APHON (American Partnership for Healthcare Organizations) Pediatric certification, and experience in a teaching hospital environment
  • Responsibilities: Performing IV starts and blood draws, TPT (Temporary Pacemaker) placements, and delivering patient care in a pediatric ICU setting. The candidate must work well under pressure, demonstrate strong patient care skills, and adapt to the units policies and procedures.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit features Level II Trauma status with 15 beds and a staff of 38.
    • Patient ratios are 2:1, and equipment includes general critical care monitoring tools.
    • Typical EMR system in use is Meditech / CPN.
    • Focus is on delivering high-quality, compassionate care within a fast-paced, teaching hospital environment.
